Hi does any know of a UK source for adapters that will let me use my Elf and Elmo in a Bell and Howell? Either off the shelf or someone who can turn one out.

Try Classic I think they list adapters.

Classic Home Cinema sell sleeves, they had some original unused Bell & Howell sleeves at £29.99.
