Hi I just wondered if anyone has come accross a home done 3 prong claw Eiki ( or Elf ) 16mm machine.

I know there are people who could do this. I just ask as what a machine they could of been with an extra one ( over the std 2 ).

I did once speak to a chap who self fitted a flat 2 pin claw in a single round claw 8mm machine.

Best Mark.

I've never heard of it being done to a 16mm projector. It could be a recipe for disaster unless the original manufacturer made a model with three claws that could act as a donor.

In 8mm I believe Eumig claws evolved over a long period and that some transplants might be possible.

The best answer is to use a 3 or 4 claw design or carefully repair old worn prints to avoid trouble with 2 claw machines.
