I'm currently working on a Eiki NT-0 and have an issue. The material that surrounds the rod (hidden in the casing) has deteriorated. It has fallen apart and has the consistency of a crayon. I scrapped out the crumbling material and was wondering what I can use as a substitute. Thanks everyone for any help / advice!

Hi Douglas,
Your problem is quite common with the focus control. I use a silicon rubber tube, readily available in UK and if you have difficulty in obtaining same, will send you a short length to do the job. Send PM with delivery address if interested.

Hi Douglas A silicon sleeve works well. You may be able to purchase pre-cut lengths designed for garden irrigation systems of varying diameter. Masking tape works as an interim solution.
