Hi folks!
I was curious about this 16 mm projector I saw on a sale today. It is an "ELEW" 16 mm projector, seems to be a Russian/Polish machine... Does somebody have experience with this one or knows something more about it?

Elew are fantastic 16mm machine, very kind on film and tube amplifier. There´s a profesional versión,the model AP16 made by PREXER, a polish Company ,that use a maltese cross to drive the film and rear gate projection pad, a real gem.Are very heavy projectors made to last forever, i have the AP16 versión for more than 30 years without no problems at all working every day for about a full length feature. You can see the PREXER AP16 MODEL here:

Super, thank you! As these seem to be good machines, have you an idea of a correct price to pay for a machine in good working condition?

If the machine is in real good working order about 200 US dollars for the model you show on photo, the professional AP16 made by prexer have a twice more value, the problem is that not too much people knows that kind of projectors and they may think that cost much less

Thank you so much, Jose! So, Prexer and Elew was sort of co-company? Like Bauer and Silma had? Or not that case? Do you think that the machine that is in the picture is a good one, or not that good as the AP16 model? Thanks!!

Elew machines was making by the Prexer company wich international name was Varimex. The use for the projector was for cinema on cruise ships, shipping ships, military and schools in Poland. The machine of the picture is a good normal machine built to last and easy to service but the real gem is the model AP16 wich is really better due to the genova movement, rear pressure gate, micrometric focus and standarized focus barrel. The sound is excellent and rich on bass and medium tones thanks to the valve amplifier.
