Does anyone out there have a really good quality original print (and, of course, complete) of the 1933 Monogram version of OLIVER TWIST with Dickie Moore?
It is a common title, but is usually found in pretty lousy film or video copies.
I don't necessarily need to own it in 16mm. If you have such a print, would you be willing to make me a DVD-R copy? (It is my understanding that this film is in the public domain.) Would be willing to buy a DVD-R or I'm sure that I could come up with something interesting to trade -- particularly if you are a Dickens fan.

The 1933 version of 'Oliver Twist' was available as a silent title in the Pathescope 9.5mm film catalogue, 1956-7 cat.no SB4424 4x300ft reels. I hired a copy at the time and remember it as being excellent quality, as indeed many of the Pathescope titles were. Don't know if it was ever released in sound on this guage. I now have a Digiview DVD of this film which is average quality, but quite a revelation to see in full after all these years. Having said that, the film, though interesting as a piece of movie history, was actually pretty pedestrian and uninspired. The David Lean version years later was an improvement.
