Members will be aware that I have recently acquired a large amount of films, actually 657 in all, two car loads, from Tufnell Park in north London.
The owner has unfortunately had a severe stroke and will be conveying his films to a skip unless collectors are able to visit him. He is unable to speak on the telephone, nor is he able to prepare lists of his titles. It's a question of just taking away the films (not picking or choosing). He does not state a price but awaits an offer once the films have been examined at home.
I have advised him that the new acquisitions have increased my collection to over 2000 and now there is not just the room in my 2-bed bungalow to acquire any more.
He has replied:- "I still have a quantity of films and I would be most grateful if you could spread the word among your fellow collectors and advise them of the availability of a large number of films for little cost".
If this offer interests you please phone me on 01454 201228 and I can then give full details of the owner's name, address and email contact.

I'm not able to call you today (working) but I thought I'd check if this collection is still available ?? I am local (North London) and could collect if so.

Will members please note that I am not on contact with the owner of the films therefore I cannot state the current position regarding what is still available. To phone callers I will give an email address and owner's name/address so that members can make direct contact.

I'm baffled why he's talking about taking the remainder to a skip, unless the collection is full of battered, faded material of very little value. If he runs out of collectors who can take it away soon, why doesn't he contact a dealer who will pay him something to take away the films?
Maurice - have you picked up anything worth having that would gives others hope that thew trip might be worth their while?
