Can anyone point me in the right direction for a spare INTERNAL speaker for the above? I've found a modern "replacement" (5 inch 8 ohms 40 W) but it won't go in as the original is the "old school" shape, slightly lozenged. A spare external (lid) one would do (15 ohms). I thought of using a car speaker but they are 4 ohms, so not worth the risk.
Any one got one or can suggest a source?

Martin

Well, I never got a reply from them Michael, but after a long, hard search (biggest problem was equating the physical size, impedance and power rating to actually be able to fit the NT1) I did eventually find an excellent German one. Cost me around £25 including shipping. If anyone out there needs one, let me know: I'm thinking of buying a few because I'm pretty sure we could get the cost down on a small quantity, just like the belting, which has proved very popular.

Martin, Did Maplins not have something. I have certainly bought from them replacements which fit Elmo's and sounded better than the Elmo originals.

Kevin,
Maplins, amongst many, many others could only supply 4 ohm speakers (the current standard for car use). The other problem is that the current nearest size is 5.25 inches and the current standard shape is "round". The Eiki available space is too small and a slightly "lozenged" shape is needed.
I did try a 5.25 inch one; it just would not go! Anyone need a very good quality 8 ohm speaker, never used in anger? I'll pass it on at cost, but it will not fit an Eiki!.
Be careful of the current Maplin's (Reisen) speakers: reviews on the Net seem to agree that they sound great when new, but tend to become tinny quickly.
Martin.

Stuart,

I bought mine from these:

http://www.projectorservicesni.com/

However, Martin didn't have much luck with them. Might be worth giving them a try.
