Well folks if you like movies filmed in stunning scenery Jeremiah Johnson is certainly one of them. Released in 1972 this blu-ray is outstanding. The disc arrived this week from amazon as a German import. As soon as I put the disc in the player it went straight to English 5:1 audio.
Although its been out on dvd for years this release onto blu-ray is light years ahead in quality. I found myself sitting close to the screen and taking in the stunning photography, plus I must add an excellent soundtrack. Its been one of those movies I have been wanting to get for a long time now, as a upgrade from the dvd. I was not dissapointed
As with the dvd the opening scene on the raft is not in focus but thats only for a few seconds, after that...perfect. for a movie thats now 46 years old Warner Brothers has done a very nice transfer to blu-ray. It comes with an Overture and Intermission.
Here are a couple of screen shots from the other night
