Hi I was just wondering what Blu Ray discs look like through an ordianry Vp( not HD) say through the s-video, any one given it a try or fancy trying it.
I fancy getting a BR player interest free from the local spot but don`t want to upgarde my VP as still very happy with it, also skinty as usual.
I have heard viewed like this they will only look as good as a decent DVD or will they still pip std even through an older VP.
Any suggestions, ideas or experiances greatly appreciated.
Best Mark.
PS what are B R discs like for trailers please too while I am on. Thanks.
My Samsung BD-P1500 can connect to a VP using either a video/audio out or using the component output so non HD VP playback should indeed be possible, thats the reason I went for this model as opposed to the more costly Panasonic player which offered less connection capability.
It's well worth taking the plunge as BD discs can be picked up for peanuts on ebay, won TEARS OF THE SUN & SWAT for 0.99p each last week!!!
BD discs usually have the same extra's as there dvd cousins so usually if the trailers on the dvd its on the BD too.

Its a really lovely machine, picture quality is superb and I have been giving it a real workout with lots of Blu Ray dvds recently with no playback problems at all,you can even see Sly give his RAMBO commentary by means of a little box in the bottom right hand corner of the screen using the version two software!!

I haven't been following Blu Ray very closely. I guess that it's region coded like standard DVDs? If so, can the players be hacked to play multi-regions?
