Firstly, I would like to thank all the collectors and dealers that attended the 32nd convention, and hope that they all enjoyed the day.

On a personal note, I think that this was one of the best Blackpool Exhibitions that we have ever organized.
For me - I thought that both the evenings entertainment beforehand was superb (thanks Robert for a superb film program), and the main exhibition itself, had a fantastic atmosphere from the moment we opened the doors.

Our lovely (and can I say very affable and approachable) guests were as gorgeous in person as they are on the big screen.

(The question and answer session that we held with them both in the afternoon, was both enlightening, touching and in many instances very amusing - shame on you who missed it).
Thank you so much - Valerie (Leon) and Caroline (Munro) - for agreeing to attend our exhibition - you were both an absolute delight to meet and to talk to, and it was a pleasure that many collectors have echoed.

You have won our hearts.

If you missed the chance to meet and talk to them, I strongly recommend that you scour the upcoming events (like the Manchester Film Festivals held once a year), book yourself a ticket and go along to meet these delightful stars, you will not be disappointed.

The high definition DVD & LCD projection show was something to behold, the quality was breathtaking (and the price not bad either! - Just £1599 for the projector). We are starting to get many enquiries from the demonstrations given on the day.

Thanks must go to everyone involved for making this an event - once again - not to be missed.

- Can I please quash the rumours now that this is the last Blackpool Exhibition that we are organizing. The next 'Blackpool Bash' will be held 21st / 22nd November - we just needed to confirm the date with the hotel, and couldn't do that in time before leaflets were printed.
I do hope that the stupid and irresponsible 'rumours' about Derann quitting the 8mm scene are not resurfacing again.

The exhibition was, once again, a resounding success and proves that with effort and imagination, events like these can flourish.

I look forward to seeing you all next year (and all of the people who couldn't make it this year).

Lets keep the 8mm flag flying

Kind regards

Adrian

(I would appreciate your constructive comments on the exhibition, both good and bad - post on the forum - as all comments are noted and will help us to make the event even better than this year)

Adrian, can I just say what a great time I had personally and give a big thanks to yourself and all your staff who's attitude was superb all day. I certainly picked up quite a few bargains from your stall and look forward to next year, Del.

P.S. Can you ask the Savoy to turn the heating down next year, boy was it warm in there, I felt sorry for the dealers.

Adrian keep up the fantastic work. On a personal note my only advice to you, for next year, would be "Make sure you give the barman more time satisfy your "mid morning refreshment" requirements. The poor chap went quite pale when you gave him your "mid morning order".

Seriously, the event was superb, worth the price of admittance for Gary's witty repartee. You should make him do a "stand up" routine at the evening dinner. [Big Grin]

See wot 'appens? I make Adrian buy the drinks - and then he leaves me out!! Anyway, I had a good B'pool (apart from sweating cobs due to the heating) and before I had to rush off on Sunday to do a 'gig' for a Reform Synagogue in North London I bought a few bits. Derann sold me a multi-format DVD player, some blank DVD-Rs etc, Phil Sheard took my order for my annual litre of CrestClene and then sold me a 16mm print of 'The Punch & Judy Man' B&W (Hancock's only halfway decent film). Peter Churchill (one of my favourites 'cos he's small like me) GAVE me a film (300ft on Gymnosperms (pine-type trees to you) and sold me two musical items (both B&W) both 'Inspiration Films' - Horace Shepherd directed, produced featured (must have been a modest chap) - 1 was 'A Musical Masquerade' t'other was 'Music of the Moment' with Campoli etc. And - I collected a couple of Disney Trailers and a nice doc on the British Exhibition in Australia in the '60s from Keith Hamblett (down from Sunderland for the day). Looking forward to next time!

I really enjoyed the day Adrian, and my only criticism is that you do need more seats for the dinner. [Frown] Although I was late in booking. Great the day was though, and I shall endeavour to make it again next year. With hopefully more money for films.

Chris.
