Went back to Reading Cinemas tonight "twice in the same day" and apart from a 4.8 shake during the movie "a small distraction" The Iron Lady was very good.
Meryl Streep as Margaret Thatcher was outstanding, a riveting performance, a definate acadamy award nomination if there ever was one.......oh! excellent 35mm print as well

Yes we went last weekend to see we thought it was very good and shown in digital. Think most cinemas now here in UK will show it via a digital projector. The cinema we go to does declare the source of thier films but I would think the multi-plex's do not. This weekend we hope to see the Artist, trailer was very interesting, it is a new film in black and white and silent.

The Reading cinema has two out of its eight screens fitted out with Christie video projectors for 3D movies. At present they have no plans to replace the others with digital in the near future. Reading like the other cinemas here are still mostly film and the film presentations has always been good, never come across a bad one. As time marches on they will be forced to spend the big bucks to stay in business, however with the gap with what you can now get on home entertainment these days and going to the movies getting smaller it will be interesting to see if they do have a future.
