Keanu Reeves made this documentary about film vs digital. I can't believe what James Cameron said "You can't shoot 3D on film." Say what?

This looks so good. As a Freshman film production major I can't say much about the caparison between film and digital because all we shoot on is digital. One thing that is so lovely about digital filmaking is how easy it is and how quick one can make a short film. But when it comes to viewing movies I love watching 35mm in the theaters. Even though I think digital looks great, I can always remember the darks of the film in the theater. I didn't know when I was younger what 35mm film was but I just loved how the movies looked in the theater vs. TV. Anyway, I am very interested in seeing this documentary.

Grant, save up a few shekels and shoot some Super 8 Fuji Velvia 50 or Kodak 100D Ektachrome. It's a royal pain, you can't see your work right away, it can't record sound directly, it's less than HD clarity -- but it has a look and feel like nothing else.

Grant-Being a long time shooter (film and digital) and some time teacher, the main difference between the two is that digital allows for faster lousy movies. Film requires a LOT more thought BEFORE pushing the record button. Good luck in your endevor. It's not the equiptment but how you use it !!
