So, I got my BenQ W1070 digital projector and hooked it up. It is amazing! Hi Def that fills the wall. Seriously, in my basement theater it dwarfs my screen and covers the entire back wall. The picture quality is still unbelievable. I've decided to take the screen down and paint the wall. I know there's screen paint out there, but living in Canada, I don't know how easy it would be to get it shipped here or how expensive it would get. So, the plan is to get interior paint. My question is what is the best white to paint it, flat white? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would just use Dulux white undercoat/sealer water based paint to start with....give it good few coats of that. Apply with a quality roller and give it a light sand between those coats with fine eg 320-400 grade wet or dry paper. Give things a day or so, then again with the roller apply quite a few top coats, of say Vivid white "Matt" eg Dulux "Wash and Wear" water based paint.

Once again a just a very light sand between coats...if you could post a few photos of your progress that would be great...all the best.

For what it's worth, drive-ins use Sherwin Williams A100 Flat Latex Wall paint.

I used flat white, and for the most part it looked pretty good. The only problem is that I have a small window on that wall and covered it with white poster board and film tape. Occasionally you can see the outline of the slightly raised frame, so I ordered a 100 inch pull up screen. My wife and kids are content watching it on the wall for the bigger area but the outline of the window bothers me.

Go as Matte as you can. I found an ultra white artist paint that worked really well, but any matte finish white faint will work. Pay attention to getting an even coat though and spend the time getting your surface prepared nice and f-l-a-t. I tried 'screen goo' and other paints but the Derivan White was just as good. Any matte paint will do really for that projector.
