She had dropped off my radar a bit (though checking her entry on IMDB reveals she was prolific up until very recently) but a lot of young men of a certain era would have had a strange crush on Karen. I've seen her most recently in one of my favourite films 'Capricorn One'.
A real shame but Karen seemed to have led a full life to the last.

Very sad news indeed, a very attractive lady who has starred in
many great films like "Easy Rider","Five Easy Pieces","The Great
Gatsby", "Airport '75" the list goes on,she was definate eye candy,
but an excellent actress as well.I must admit to having a crush
on her, any film she appeared in benefitted from her presence., a
very sad loss for us all.Condolences to her Family & Friends,
R.I.P. Karen.

I think what really frightens me is how old actors & actresses are. They never age, and then you get a shock 74 years old.

These are a few of my favourites I have four on super 8 other on dvd

1979 Killer Fish
1978 The Squeeze
1978 In Praise of Older Women
1977 Capricorn One
1976 Burnt Offerings
1976 Family Plot
1975 The Day of the Locust
1974 Airport 1975
1974 The Great Gatsby
1973 The Outfit
1972 Portnoy's Complaint
1971 A Gunfight
1970 Five Easy Pieces
1969 Hard Contract

All I can say is thank you for entertaining me in your films.

MGM more stars than in heaven, sadly more in heaven now.

Wasn't she the "love interest" in "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"?

Osi, that was Katherine Ross in Butch & Sundance.

Two of my favorite Karen Black movies:

The 1986 remake of Invaders From Mars in which she starred with her young son, Hunter Carson.

In the 1974 TV movie, Trilogy Of Terror, Karen played three characters in three different stories. Great stuff and scary!

RIP Karen. You will be missed.

I met her several years ago at an an autograph show. She was very cordial, gracious and understanding in signing an 3 sheet poster of Five Easy Pieces for a person that was before me.

I mentioned to her that to have an experience to work for Hitchcock must have been
fantastic. She agreed and had fond reminiscences about the film.

Did anyone ever see her in "Trilogy of Terror"? That was my personal Karen Black favorite. Scared me so much when it premiered on tv back around 1975 or so. I was in elementary school, and it was all anyone talked about the next day at school. [Smile]

James.
