I was expecting a package to be delivered by Hermes. I had been tracking this for four days. Today at 0757 it said: "Received by the recipient's local courier."
At just after 9am a private car pulled up and the driver hurried to my front door. So did I. But no knock on the door as the driver/courier hurried once more, got in his car and drove off. I opened the door and the package was in the front door porch.
I then checked the tracking to which had now been added:- "0901 - Delivered - signature received from customer."
In the event of a dispute how can Hermes prove that I received the package?

Hi Maurice, I suspect that the courier keyed in "delivered" on his smart phone handset to save time and added an illegible squiggle. You can report it but I wonder about whether Hermes imposes unrealistic time targets on its couriers. I've never had a problem as a sender or recipient with Hermes in my area though.

I didn't have a card. The package was just left for me to find when I left the house, or perhaps opened the door to a caller. The Hermes driver didn't knock on my door.
Having known from the tracking that delivery was imminent I just sat in the front room to await the delivery.
The use of Hermes by a seller is not unusually known until the purchase has been actually made.

It has been applied in any Airport around the world, no one check ones took which luggage(s). And every thing is still in place to date.
Hermes has probably calculated the possibility of missing parcel is minimum, similar to the case in the airport.

Personally. I would report this to myhermes and tell them as far as you are concerned you have not received it as ask to see the signature, then tell them this is not your signature or anyone else's at your address. That's almost fraud.
