I'm not kidding. at the ABTT Theatre show yesterday Flint Theatrical Chandlers were showing (with video projection on it) a black screen with a good picture in the exhibition hall (Alexandra Palace).
I think it may still be under final development as it is not in the catalogue they were giving away. It seems to be an aerosol spray that when applied to a black surface (in this case black painted MDF) will give a non-directional projection screen. The people on the stand couldn't give details of how it worked, ut we rejected the thought of glass beads as they would be directional and on a black background would give a very dim picture.

That's really neat! I never heard of a black screen before...and you can watch with the lights on better too! I saw somewhere as well someone making their own screen using a large sheet of 1/4" MDF (or just use a bare wall), and metallic paint, matte paint, and a paint roller. I should try it on my one wall...needs a new coat anyways
