Ive seen this a few times as its repeated every few months. Excellent programme but gives the impression home movies today can only be viewed on a laptop or TV. There are no other ways to view them. Does no one in scotland have a projector!

But still nice programme btw. Im still waiting for Englands home movies.

Great programme content with lovely variety of content.
I hope all those that had their priceless footage copied to dvd, kept the original film safe. DVD may be convenient, but.......

I was irritated by the programme`s makers "added" cue,scratch and damage marks, which they felt appropriate to superimpose in order to indicate it was home footage. I presume they considered this artistic.

The image quality of much of the footage was very good.
Hopefully, that film will be intact long after the current digital storage is obsolete!

I too found the added scratches irritating, especially as they were mainly outside the 4x3 film area in the black masking to fill the widescreen format of the show. Also because it was on a short, about 20 second, loop and you could tell when specific marks were going to re-appear. Also I wanted more of the film and less chat shots which could have been vocals over the silent films.

A few years ago there was a series called the home movie show ? where there was 2 versions of each programme as they had a repeat of it called ' uncut' where they just showed the films in full without people talking but instead they put subtitles on the screen which your eyes were always drawn to. Personally I dont mind people talking about their memories providing there is enough film to go with it.

Interesting to see how much the music and comments from involved parties added to the interest of what would otherwise be a string of rather ordinary pictures.
