PLEASE, READ THE MESSAGES THAT FOLLOW THIS ORIGINAL ONE AS THERE ARE CHANGES IN THE GIVEN INFORMATIONS (I let it to make the answers understandable)

I'm surprised that none of our British members has shared with us the good new. There will be a second 2017 edition of the BFCC. The Group 9.5's magazine (a good source of informations, if you haven't subcribed, yet...) latest edition says that David Tatham will take over this event organized until recently by Keith Wilton. The date is Sunday 29th October and the place is : "Harvey Primary School in Croxley Green near Rickmansworth, Herts. WD3 3BN".

I got a PM from David who says there are some old informations in the article in the 9.5 magazine (but I don't know exactly what it is). David will correct that in this space. Yes, Paul that has been announced at the last edition.

Rickmansworth is not the BFCC. This is either a mistake or someone trying to use the name for their own ends but is not allowed. The BFCC is the ownership of Keith Wilton.

We are looking at a new type of BFCC which will be called 'BFCC Lite'. It all depends on Keith Wilton and what he wishes to do.

John, I don't beleive there is any bad intention nor from David nor from the 9.5 magazine. There has probably been some misunderstanding regarding this. As said before, David will clarify what's wrong in the quoted article.

Dear all,

this is my first post, although a silent reader for nearly 14 years (8mm forum, member 94), I have enjoyed the content without reply, so please bear with me and be gentle!

Many thanks to Dominique for opening this topic, however, it appears that 9.5 magazine may have got some fundamental details incorrect (we have not received the current 9.5 magazine yet, so cannot check he exact wording).

There is to be a Revival, but this is of Geoff Wheelers Big Screen Time, for which Geoff has given me full blessing.

Since October 2016, over 1300 questionnaires have been given out to get feedback on what people like in a film fair/convention. The results of which have been sent in the form of an article to Projections, 9.5, Flickers and Film Collector.

Based on this, the film convention will happen on Sunday 22nd October 2017. This was originally the 29th October, but through some complications, we lost out. The 29th would have been better as it was two weeks, rather than one week after Harpenden (9.5 do). The date was chosen to avoid all the existing fairs/conventions and Keith (W) is also aware of the original date and the new date.

The Big Screen Time Revival will take place at Harvey Road Primary School, Croxley Green, Rickmansworth, Herts. WD3 3BN. This is 8 minutes walk from Croxley underground station (Metropolitan Line) and has parking for around 80 cars within the grounds and further parking on Harvey Road itself.

It will take place between 10:00 and 17:30 and the first film show will start at 10:45.

If successful, I may move to May away from the latter end of the year.

I am starting to contact people that gave feedback in the questionnaire that offered to help, wanted a table, offered to give film shows etc. and I will keep going with this.

I need to re-read the forum rules again to check if I can post the questionnaire on here as I am still happy to receive feedback.

Anyway, thanks again to Dominique for getting me to post, apologies to John and Keith for any confusion and I look forward to bringing back this family friendly event.

Happy to answer any queries.

😀🎬

Dominique kindly alerted me about the error in name here. I have changed the topic heading to reflect that the upcoming convention referred to is Big Screen Time and not the BFCC.

Dominique,
Your PM mailbox is full.

David,
You are actually member #92! You are welcome to post the questionnaire here. I would suggest starting a new topic.

Doug

Thank you, Doug.

I sent a scan of the article to David so he can see exactly what's in it.

David - good to hear that you've been able to make this happen. I hope it's well-supported. Two questions:
a) Will the new Big Screen Time shows be exclusively on film, or will you still have a digital presentation as there was at Tadley?
d) Will the Rickmansworth Cine Fair on September 30 be unaffected by this?

Thanks Adrian, yes it would be great to spread the news, particularly when so many people that go to the other conventions are regulars on here.

In answer to your questions:

A) I have a program this time that is exclusively film, however that doesn't mean that should there be something that requires digital projection, such as the new 9.5 documentary, then there are facilities in the school to do this.

B) Yes Franks' Chorleywood Film Fair will be unaffected and I will continue to help set this up.

I'll be sending you a PM as well.

Thanks John for the best wishes.

David, for some unknown reason, I got a message today in my mailbox saying that the article I sent you several days ago could not be delivered to you.
