Hey, has anyone else had any problems getting packages from overseas? (I'm speaking to US members here). I've had two packages, bought and paid for on the same day (December 3rd) and both are not here yet.

One of them is from Alberto in Italy and I'm sure that he mailed it off, but the other one is from the UK and both packages show NO movement at all ...

So I'm wondering if ther is a major screw-up going on with overseas shipping these days, as I have noted that all packages mailed in the continental U.S. have had no delays, even during this holiday season, just the overseas packages.

I bought a projector book from Germany on Nov 27th and it has not shown up yet. I was told by the seller it was sent Nov 29th and to be patient. I bought some films from Kevin C in the U.K. and they were on my porch 3 days later so I am a bit concerned about the book. I hope it gets here.

I received a film within a week of posting from the States last month so someone's doing their job. And I didn't get charged import duty. That alone was a Christmas present!

I've never had problems receiving, but have had issues (like right now) with shipping to the UK - tracking shows the film I shipped sitting in UK customs for a week now!

Getting items from Europe has always been a roll of the dice for me. Hard to believe in this age.

Osi, December was a month of crisis for Poste Italiane, I have a sister who works in a call center of poste, she said about hundreds of complaint calls.
Problems also for national shipments, I have now received parcels shipped at the beginning of December (which were the ones that suffered most delays).
We, users, can ship with the best type of shipping possible (Alberto can confirm) and hope ... [Smile]
Personally I had never had problems with the Italian post, this December was the first time, it's said for lot of Christmas gifts and large orders on Amazon, etc.
I don't know if the thing is also valid for international shipments that start from here. However, it's only delays, parcel losses there have not been. [Smile]

I'm still hoping that I'll recieve a certain rare super film that was shipped on the 6th of December, but I'm fearing that it got lost in Italys post, so i put in a refund request, but i also assured the seller that if it should in fact arrive, i will very quickly pay him for it all over again, of course. [Smile]

But i fear that it was lost as, another package from Italy, shipped by the same post shipping, (standard) 10 days after the other package, arrived 3 days ago, so, hence the fear. [Frown]

There is a hope, the same type of shipping can vary a lot during this time.
You have done well to submit a refund from Post, it's also correct to the seller.
But... If a rare film we hope don't be lost! [Smile]
Do you have tracking? What does it say?

Meanwhile, I received a package with a Bolex replacement from the US: 20 days, a good average. Perhaps the problem is more than Italy--->Usa, than Usa--->Italy.
But around January, everything is returning to normal.

Just received a film from France today, about four weeks after I ordered it. The post office kept failing to deliver it, and after two trips to the downtown office, I was finally able to get it. Got it home and found that I was sent the black and white version of a film that was advertised as being in color. Not an eBay purchase, so I am probably screwed.

Finally received the book today....I'm glad it showed up, even with one of the corners smashed in some, but I guess that's what happens when it sits idle at a WHS somewhere. Shipping from Germany to USA is slooooooooooooooow.
