The big news was the whipping 119% gain in Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:KODK) after the company announced it would use blockchain technology to help photographers secure their digital rights. ......financial newsfeed 1/9/18
Big money believes Kodak has a bright future.

This clip above shows kodak shares skyrocketing and a super 8 camera pictured!
I hope this little nuance is meaningful to kodaks future, but anything related to the bitcoin type systems is RISKY FRAGILE!

I hope it's not too good to be true over the long haul, and you all feel the same way. But that IS a really nice piece of news! Too bad no film is involved!

Hi Bill

On one of the Facebook pages, I understand the film was on display at Kodak CES 2018. There is also talk, the film will be for sale around April 2018 [Cool] ...I do hope so. It might be time to dust of those old Super8 cameras [Smile] ...here is hoping the electronics etc in them still go [Smile]

Can they make it affordable?. I liked the Kodachrome because it was process paid; the Ektachrome you could take to any photographic dealer to be processed, but doubt this would be the case today. You would probably have to send it to a specialist lab. Would love to be able to shoot Super 8 again.

Robert, 100D Ektachrome should continue using the E-6 process still common in the few remaining labs around the world.

They do! All of their pricings are available at dwaynesphoto.com/. Only do E-6 movie processing at this point (no B&W, no negative). It's pricey, but they have Wittnerchrome 200D reversal in three gauges! Plus E-6 slides and B&W or color print processing. My experiences with them in the 2000s were exemplary, only surpassed in quality and customer service by Yale Film and Video.

At $56 now per 50 feet, I'm glad I shot family movies when I did a decade ago. It was half the cost then.
