Do we have a potential bad sellers thread? I do not mean where people may come on here and hang people out to dry with little info. I mean documented experiences with sellers we ALL should avoid completely!
Here is an example of the kind of thing I would watch out for:
B ad Feedback Example 1

ps: I was curious if any of our members here are part of those 7 negatives, and what they experienced...
Thanx in advance...

I've had films from him; he does get some very good titles, and his prices are good, but his packing isn't so good. I had one where the spools were coming out of the packing, and on top of that, the film was supposed to be on 2x1600ft spools, but one was 1200ft, with film hanging over the edge. It was a miracle it got here, plus I was fortunate that there weren't any cinch marks. Like some of the others, I received a print that had VS, even though the advert said No VS. If a title that I'm interested in comes up it hasn't stopped me from buying from him.

thanx robert! actually, you make me think of another point Robert!

Just because a print is bad is the seller bad. If the seller documents the print as bad, and someone buys it as-is, fair.
What I should have said is, do we have known sellers who have bad feedback because of their ebay practices, rather than bad prints merely.

I think i've been very lucky with my Ebay purchases. I don't personally know of any sellers that have bad practices. Regarding the seller you linked to; he will accept returns, but the film I bought wasn't expensive, so kept it, and I could get years of viewing out of it. He's not deliberately sending out bad films; someone said they they didn't think he had a very good sense of smell. He does check all prints and supply screenshots. His packing could be better when dealing with rare or scarce items; but if you ask him to make sure it's well packed, he does take this onboard.

Have to add with 15,722 sales 99.1% feedback is pretty good. Out of that many customers there are bound to be a couple who are not happy with what they buy.
As i mentioned before, i think there are dodgy buyers as well who will bid and bid, when they win and get there "win" they probably realise they over paid for it because they just wanted to win the auction. I had one such buyer and fortunately ebay could see what was going on so i came out OK. The guy threatened to come on here and tell all. He didn't want to tell me who he was, (his name at that time could not be found on here). So while i fully agree, there certainly are some dodgy sellers, but equally there are buyers who are also scammers.
I myself have not used this seller but looking at his sales and feedback i would be happy to buy. [Wink]

I have also had good dealings with the seller that is linked above. Those negatives all sound like the buyers rushing to judgement. If the seller is offering a refund but you keep the film why would you leave bad feedback?

I do think a bad seller thread could be useful information, but it could easily turn into bashing people who don't really deserve to be bashed.

I know the seller and had some dealings with him. Even met him in person a couple of times. I found him to be the type of seller that will list anything from pure junk to mint. His prices tend to be on the high side. He was kinda stingy the time I sold a pile of tv shows to him that he ended up just relisting on ebay for more and another time when I made an offer on films he was selling. Plus we made plans to meet and sell those tv shows to him and he cancelled 30 min before our appointment. Wasted my time. Then the next time he got lost and couldn't find where Cumberland farms was. Again wasting my time driving around trying to find him and call him on his phone that he hardly answered. If you buy something I would ask lots of questions and view the film when it comes.Because I know he's not very accurate in his description from the films ive sold him. he is very disorganized.

My bad experience (very bad) was with a guy named Wayne Sarnowski- In the early 1990's a bought loads in one go - I still regret that day, was through the BIG REEL back then. It's a name I'll never forget not even after more than 25 years.

The seller I put is just an example of probably many experiences.

Don't forget this is the 'potential' bad sellers thread, meaning, we have opportunity to explain someones 'bad behaviour' as well, as we have done. Maybe there is a good reason for some misfortunes.
I think my seller above is a very good example of a seller to watch out for. Watch out does not mean avoid completely necessarily, but you need to know that it is very hit and miss.
Any others...?

I've had a good experience with that seller as well, but don't expect mint LPP, or be competitive on these auctions for the reasons already mentioned.
