Obviously we have to send projectors by courier from time to time, but in the past I have used Parcel 2Go who are just a third party offering a variety of different couriers at various prices. However their terms and conditions exclude projectors from any compensation for damage or loss. Luckily I have had no reason to claim to date. Are there any couriers that provide cover for projectors ? Or rather do not exclude them from cover. Surely if they are packaged adequately they should be classed as any other fragile item. Is this just a UK idiosyncrasy?

I would suggest you avoid UPS. They knock doors with a feather and run. They direct you to then collect from various shops. They may not warn anyone that delivery attempts will not be possibly repeated or guaranteed! This is purely MY personal experience

UPS is indeed a very bad company. They don't ring, they don't leave any paper in your box, they don't call you and they send the parcell back to the seller. To avoid !

Thanks David and Dom - but does anyone know which couriers accept projectors as items that are included for compensation for loss or damage. I just wonder whether it is Parcel2Go policy not to compensate or is it the policy of all couriers?
