If this is the same print, I Can say it was astoundingly beautiful. My understanding is that it is a brand new print, recently struck from the original camera negative. Christopher Nolan is to thank for making this happen! I have seen the print moving around quite a bit and am happy others are having the chance to sit through this 70mm experience!

Who manufactures new reversal colour stock ? The French 9.5 club is looking for 35 mm unperfored stock. I guess if 70 mm stock is available, 35 mm should be, too.

There was a big discussion about this on the 35mm forum. The print was struck from a dupe neg as the original is not in good shape. They said originally Kubrick made sure the blacks for the space shots were maxed to it's blackest so most people said this print was not like that. Honestly, I don't see how they can remember that far back. I saw it in it's original run and I don't remember. Of course I was a teenager then.

The Q & A Event in Melbourne with Keir Dullea ( Dave ) & Gary Lockwood ( Frank ) lasted about 45 Mins and the Print of 2001 in 70mm was Perfect no scratches, this must be the same Print you saw Evan.
Keir mentioned that the Voice of the HAL 9000 Computer, Douglas Rain had only Just Died a few Days ago.
