On this day 41 years ago Elvis Presley died and we normally run some film around this time to pay homage to him but we are doing something different this year,I will probably do something over the weekend as I haven't run any film for a few weeks so will change that soon. Tonight my son and I are going to see the 68 Tv Special being shown at selected cinema's across the country, last time I saw Elvis at the cinema was In 1987 for his 10 year anniversary and that was This is Elvis (which is a great film if you haven't seen it) so I'm looking forward to tonight,we have checked the seating and it's a full house so should be a good evening, anyone else going? Mark.

I may show the last reel of Blue Hawaii (the one that hasn't faded as much as the rest).

I didn't know about the anniversary of his death. This confirms my plan to watch my 16mm low fade print of Clambake (1967).

Just got back from the cinema and a really good evening, very well done and entertaining, not an empty seat. My only criticism was the picture quality wasn't pin sharp but understandable with the original source material, so glad we went,Mark.
