I'd love to see that working. I understand it was used by travelling salesmen to showcase their goods, but was it only giant firms, perhaps like Ford, who were able to get films specifically made for them? I remember reading in the old 'Film User' that optical sound was available for some school subjects but it never took off. I've always thought it rather sad that no-one really persevered with Super 8 optical enough to make it a main stream option.

I wonder if this kind of machien was used overseas in South Africa, for instance, which had a libary style rental company for super 8 features with optical sound. I know about the company as that is where I bought my super 8 optuical sound prints of "Vera Cruz", "Never So Few", "A Boy Named Charlie Brown" and "Snoopy Come Home" ... all super 8 optical sound features!
