Claims the discs will absorb gasses:

For some reason I can't include the direct link here, but if you go to the website below and type FilmGuard in their search area it will pop up.

If you're refering to what I saw (and couldn't put a direct link, neither) it's not "our" Filmguard, it's another product with the same name.

momentcatcherproductions.com also sells these. Maybe Brad Miller could weigh in on this...

What I mean is that the word (however spelt) is not mentioned in the ad.
The description is "Movie Film Protectant - Vinegar Syndrome Eliminator".

On my screen, it appears as FilmGuard Reel Film Preserver but the direct link is not accepted by the forum system.

Maurice, they're not called FilmGuard on the momentcatcher site, but they are on the Gaylord site. Anyway, if they work as described it's a good thing [Smile]

Thank you, Joe.
That clears it up, but rather confusing. [Confused]

As Joe remarks ' a good thing if it works. ' but if you've got hundreds of films the cost could mount up.

I find the technology very interesting. Here some info on it:

"INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY™ works completely differently from conventional anti-corrosion solutions. It provides reliable protection against corrosion during shipping and long term storage, and can also considerably reduce process costs. INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY™, which was originally developed by Lucent Technologies and Bell Laboratories (USA), has been used successfully for nearly three decades, and is even used to protect the Statue of Liberty in New York City.

Independent test results show that INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY™ provides outstanding corrosion protection for all known metallic materials.

INTERCEPT TECHNOLOGY™ reacts with and captures corrosive gases, thus creating a neutralized atmosphere that protects the products in it against corrosion. Even moisture is removed from corrosive elements, thus completely eliminating corrosion.

Various types of elements are used, depending on the application."

...and check this out for more info...
