It must be around the 80s where a friend of mine put this wonderful film on at a convention. Sadly years later due to health reasons, he was forced to sell everything. I went across to his place and by that time, just about everything had already gone. The person who selling everything on behalf, told me one of the few films still left, was a nature film about some bird and a marsh.
Anyway that had me thinking, was it "The Snow Goose" on the chance it was I bought it. Sure enough it was "The Snow Goose" with a complete running time of about 50 minutes. The 16mm print had no splices, and little if any scratches, a very nice print to run through the projector.
Over the last 20 years that I have had it, its now fading, what has surprised me over the years, is that the film was never allowed to be released in VHS or DVD. To date I don't think that has changed, which is a real shame for the fans of the film out there.
Starring Jenny Agutter and Richard Harris "The Snow Goose" was released in 1971. Here is hoping that one day the fans will get to watch this wonderful film fully restored.
Here is a short you-tube video from the other night. The quality of the up load is not that great, but it gives you an idea...
