The British Film Institute has released the longest-ever English language cut of the boys' last film "Atoll K" (also known as "Utopia" and "Robinson Crusoeland"). It's in HD and has a new 2K restoration using original 35mm nitrate masters. The two-disc set has Blu-ray and DVD copies. There are many extras including five rare shorts plus the Boys in England, there's also an audio interview with Stan. https://shop.bfi.org.uk/atoll-k-dual-format-edition.html#.XEC0uzFCfIV

Utopia suffers from obvious comparisons to the Lads best work of the 30's, but there ARE some very nice bits in this film and I think it mostly suffers just from people not liking to see Stan who was, honestly sick and suffering in this film, (sadly, obvious on the screen) ...
But I think that this film was better than nearly anything they made for MGM (?) in the 40's.
I'd love to see this bluray!

Oh, to see the lads in anything was always pleasant, but with "comedy control" taken out of Stan's hands, they were doomed to act out a script written by other people who didn't understand all the "nuances' of the Lad's humor that made them so famous.

Thanks Maurice. I've just started ordering the list of Blurays of the boys including the new Best of Laurel Hardy. One we have had a bit is a parade of the wooden soldiers which is 3D. Have to say they did a superb job on the 3D conversion.
