It's interesting: I worked in power supply manufacturing for about 30 years and it's the first time I've ever heard of this.
Real electronics is full of little uncertainties like this that make the devices you build act in ways you can't completely explain. All you can hope for is the specs you are trying to meet have enough slop that even with all this stuff going on you can still hit the mark.
Engineering is very much the art of "close enough!".
