This model is supposed to run both super 8 & 8mm film. I can't figure out how it runs 8mm through it. What am I missing? There doesn't seem to be a switch or anything to go from super 8 to single/standard.

Thanks,

Patrick

All Elmo 1200's can only run super-8/single-8.

Patrick,

I think you are a a little confused with the format terminologies.

Super 8 and Single 8 are both the same format. One made by Kodak the other by Fuji.

Prior to Super/Single 8 there was an earlier format, Standard 8 or also referred to as regular 8. This is still 8mm wide but with larger sprocket holes and a smaller picture area. This earlier format can not be run through any of the Elmo ST1200 series machines. You would need either a very early standard 8 machine or a dual guage super/standard 8 machine.

Hope that helps,

Kev.

GS1200 Xenon with Elmo 1.0...great combo along with a 16-CL Xenon for that super bright white light.

Hi Patrick
I also was confused about the Elmo 1200D & you would think the D meant Dual 8mm, but sadly not.
It only can do Super 8.
Does anyone know what the D signifies?
