Hi guys,

The bulb in my Bolex SP-80 had a loose contact. When I tried solving the problem, I only arrived at a bigger problem. Can someone please help?

im not sure but this bulb looks like the one in my chinon.

But if im not mistaken, that bulb is not supposed to come out. The "bulb" is that entire bulb and the housing.

Yes, Anthony. The bulb is not supposed to separate from the glass with reflective coating. But it has.

There is a plastic that I have circled on the top right of the picture which is a part of the projector. Now, it's broken. What can I do?

Try these folks.

Also, Google for any Eumig parts company. The SP-80 was made by Eumig and is a clone of the 700 or 800 series Eumigs.

Got a new bulb socket from Grainger yesterday. Today I got around to fixing it. Quite an easy job. Thought I'd conclude the thread by saying the problem is solved. Thanks everyone, especially Hans for the picture of the part.

I played Long Fliv the King, the sound seemed good, the picture held up nicely. This is only a 400' short. Hope everything holds up in future for full-features.
