That's very true Winbert,I very rarely used hire libraries,prefering to have my own copies to view when required, but having said that, they had hard and fast rules, that meant if a film was late on return,you had to pay another fee.Life was tough.I never used 16mm hire libraries,as when I started,the 8mm gauges were more than enough to keep one happy, and the hire fees on 16mm were prohibitive.I still like to read the old catalogues and the threats of bringing back hanging for late returns and film damage.Happy Days.

Sorry Winbert,I didn't answer your query on the sticker you mentioned.I can't remember Derann having any hard and fast rules,other than to get the film back on time,I can't recall any stickers or suchlike on the films I hired from them,although that was in the mid '70s, they might have changed their policy after then.The 16mm men were adamant that at the most,only one spool could be rewound,and that was just for you to regain your own take up.The only stickers,and they were few amd far between, were on video tapes for hire.
