I always like finding out something new aboutr these old gems, and i accidentilly found one tonight.

I pulled out my print of "Matilda" (faily film about a boxing Kangaroo from 1978) ...

I had always noted that the color was very good on it, but never looked at the stock, (I bought it as a set of three features on cores about four years ago), but tonight I noticed something quite interesting ...

Optical sound features have a black botrder on both the left and right. Obviously, the right side is the optical super 8 soundtrack, but the left side is just a jet black in the sprocket area, which makes these notorious for trying to find out what kind of stock.

Not on this print ...

In this case, in brilliant sharp white print, it states "1 S", wich is most certainly an AGFA film stock!

I have never ran into AGFA before on optical sound super 8, but it certainly gives me hope of finding "Island of Dr. Moreah" and other late 70's film on AGFA as well, as "Matilda" is a "American International" release, as was "Island", as well as a few others that i have , but not curreently on low fade.

If it's white print, then this is most likely "bleed-through" from the source negative - nothing to do with the stock which your film is printed on.
