Hi all,

I got this film when getting a projector from a local seller.

There is no box except it is spooled on 2 x 600'.

Searching in this forum found this documentary was released by Blackhawk. But one post say 3 x 400' the other say 2 x 400'.

While I also found another post say:

"Film Firsts - Chapter one" (2 x 400')
"Film Firsts - Chapter two" (2 x 400').

Can you guys give me the light, how many Film Firsts was released by Blackhawk and how many reels?

thanks

I had this documentary many years ago (traded it a while back).

Its by Blackhawk Films and if I remember correctly, its a total of 3 x 400 foot reels. The title is "Film Firsts 1 & 2", but I don't remember where it actually transitions from Part 1 to Part 2.

James and Joe, you two are the reason I am posting this:

Now, the clue is I am getting it in 2 x 600'. They are both full.

Shorty might be right, if at the end of the reel, the previous owner spliced another film.

But I am not really ready to watch the whole reels, because I am thinking to sell. But now, it seems I have to do this.

But what about "Chapter One" and "Chapter Two" do they exist?

ps: this is the old thread that talking "Chapter - Two":

http://8mmforum.film-tech.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=2;t=002127

Barry Atwood says : the 2nd film is on 2x400' Super 8 Film Firsts - Chapter Two" , I ran a few minutes of reel one and it featured "Gertie the Dinosaur" , but does anyone out there have a rundown of what's on these 2 reels.

Or do you think there is "Chapter - One" for one reel and "Chapter - Two" for two reel, making this film to become 3 x 400'?

Its been so long Win-

I think Blackhawk sold it with the option to buy one chapter, or both together (calling it FF 1&2).

Your conclusion may be correct, that Chapter 1 is 400 feet, while Chapter 2 is longer.

Go ahead and watch the whole movie Winbert. Its actually an interesting documentary for film buffs like us [Wink]

James.

Mine is about 850' total (2X400'), this encompasses the earliest animation, comedy etc - Now, 2-600' full reels sounds like there might be an additional documentary on there, such as THE SAD CLOWNS, SLAPSTICK, or SENNETT'S FUN FACTORY - Win, if you want to sell, let me know, I'd be very much of a mind for it - Shorty

Surely the obvious thing would be to thread it up and watch it.
After all we are supposed to be enthusiasts first, not "film passers".
