Okay, okay, I realize that if I'm misremembering this, I'm bound to sound like a complete idiot, so be merciful, my friends, be merciful...

I vaguely remember seeing exactly one comic book ad for Night Gallery episodes (or perhaps segments of episodes) in Super 8 when I was a kid. This would have been, oh, about 1976 or '77. Phantom of What Opera? stands out in my memory as one of the titles offered.

My grandfather shared my love of Night Gallery, which we had enjoyed together in syndicated reruns, and at that time he was the only one in the family who owned an 8mm projector. I showed him the ad, asking if he would consider buying an episode for us to watch together. He just about exploded when he saw the prices they were asking... but then, to soften the impact of his reaction, he kindly explained that these films had sound, and his was only a silent machine.

Does anyone else recall Night Gallery episodes being offered in Super 8, or is this a detour into the kingdom of the imagination I should chalk up to the early influence of Mr. Rod Serling on my young mind? [Wink]

Stranger things have happened Dave, perhaps it might be an idea
to try to remember exactly what comics you were into at that time
and looking for back issues that might have said advert in it.
Just a thought.

I don't recall any "Night Gallery" on super 8. Rod Serling's earlier series "The Twilight Zone" did have one released "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge"

I have never heard of Night Gallery on Super 8 and it would certainly grab my attention if I did. Comparable shows are almost non-existent on 8mm. There's some good material on 16mm, though; even some low fade prints of shows in their original one hour format, as opposed to chopped up into the half hour format. The latter, in my experience, are always faded.
