About 6 months ago I purchased a couple of the new Fuji ESC lamps for my GS1200 projector. I have been very impressed with the increased brightness of these lamps over the EJL lamps that I was using, which look dull in comparison.
But I have had bad luck in terms of the life I am getting from these new lamps. The first ESC lasted about 20 hours and on replacing it the second ESC lasted less than 5 hours! My EJL lamps never seem to fail, they last forever and I replace them when they just get too dull. But these new ESC lamps just seem to suddenly blow out at the prime off life! [Eek!]
I would be interested in hearing what experience other users have with these lamps in their GS1200.

Paul

I decided to opt out of getting those lamps after speaking to a local company here "Lamp Specialist" who told me at the time that they could get them, but those lamps had a short life, around the 25hr mark.

Graham.

I put a new Fuji ESC in my GS1200 on January 25th of this year, with no problems so far. I'm not sure exactly how many hours, but I have screened many features, digests, and shorts on it in the last ten months, and I always use the higher brightness setting. I actually expected it to go a while ago....

That's good news Joe. It is probable that one of the lamps I purchased was defective. There is no way I can go back to using the EJL, looks very dull in comparison with the Fuji ESC. In fact, on my projector, the ESC on the low lamp setting looks brighter than the EJL on the high lamp setting. If I can consistently get 25+ hours out of the ESC I will be happy, and if I use it most of the time on the low setting (except for scope where I definately need all the light I can get), it will probably last much longer.
