As I have recently dusted down my Bolex 18-5 projector it reminded me that while it offered quite a good image it has never been sharp from corner to corner. Could it sometihing in the gate? Or lens? It's the Bolex Hifi zoom.

Precisely, it’s the zoom. If you find a fixed focal length lens, you will have a sharp image.

Bill, most likely its the lens or its out of focus adlinement! Either one or the other!

Is the focus alignment the thing the lens screws into?

Bill, usually the lens focus screw is on or around the lens holder! Leon.
