I need help valuing my projectors. I'm currently "borrowing" a TRV S8 and R8, they've just been tuned up, parts replaced, in top condition. How would I put a price tag on them if i were to purchase? Thanks for any help on this.

It is probably an excellent choice in terms of speed, portability&convenience no doubt on that.
But image quality-wise it is still questionable,to say at least. Considering the image sensor (of a few decades ago's technology) used in these units. If it was not upgraded to something more "contemporary",I would consider other alternatives then.

S8 - Rebuild motor, new motor brushes, replace motor transistor, replace drive belt, clean and lube
R8 - Replace film claw, Replace drive belt, Replace spindle lock, Replace upper feed roller, Replace diffuser, Replace middle tension lever, rebuild motor.
They're in fine working order.

Arno as the buyer it's not your job to put a price on them. The seller will soon give you the number if you ask him for it, not us. Then decide if you can afford it or not. It's simple.

Thanks, the point is i want to go in armed with facts about their true worth and not be taken advantage of with overly inflated price. I can't bargain if i don't know what i'm bargaining with

That's EXACTLY the point.
IMO the Elmo TRV's price had been always over-inflated,up even until now. [Roll Eyes] The latest TRV-S8 was sold on Ebay for 650$.
Considering that roughly the same amount of money you can buy TWO Wolverine film scanners, well you get the idea.

And if you don't mind wasting a bit more space on your desk, try going DIY route. It may get cheaper,or better,or both. [Cool]

I spent about 700$ for this mess (550$ for camcorder alone),but I get real-time Full HD scan from this. Moreover, that camcorder will be available for use on my holiday too. [Wink]
