Does anyone know if Universal Studio's film "Somewhere In Time" made in 1980 starring Christoper Reeve and Jane Seymour was ever released on Super 8?

I could swear I saw this on Paul Foster's website once... but I may be thinking of a 16mm print here. I can't be certain now... but hope you find a copy on super-8. [Smile]

It was a super 8 optical sound title, but it is rather hard to find now. [Razz]

Thanks Osi. Since I just purchased an Optical/Magnetic Elmo, I can view it. I'll keep my eyes out for it.

So will I, (we'll probably end up competing over it if it goes up somewhere on ebay).. It's a favorite romantic film of mine. Romance and time travel, can't beat the combination!

The reason I know it was released on optical sound super 8 is that Dave Thomas Films used to have it listed in thier optical sound titles many years ago, (back in the late 80's) but with optical, you never know as to how many copies still exist of it.

That and the condition, was it an Eastman print or a Kodak SP, as both film stocks were being used.

It's a favorite of mine too. Normally, I prefer the old classics from the 40's, but this film was done so well, and it never really dawned on me that it might be on super 8. Jane Seymour was beautiful in this film.

Hmm. Romance and time travel... what was the name of that other film combining these two elements? I remember Malcolm McDowell as H.G.Wells pursuing Jack The Ripper with his time machine, ending up in the 1970s and (of course) meeting a woman... I can't even remember who plays her now.

Ohyes! I just remembered - TIME AFTER TIME [Smile]

Somewhere in Time "Super 8 Official Trailer"

The trailer was edited in Super 8, but I do not think full edition.

Yes, I have the trailer as well.... I don't think I've ever seen one of the optical S8 prints pop up. Would love to have it myself.

I second and third that! I'd love to find that super 8 optical feature! I only saw it once many years ago for sale. Wish I'd bought it then ...
though it would be iffy if it made it onto low fade stock. I would hope so, as it was a very well lensed film!
