Try to pick up a nice pair of 16mm rewinders and then contact Steve Osborne for super 8 rewinder adaptors...This is what I use and love them..

I bought as mentioned, 16mm rewinds with adapters. You can get these from Larry Urbanski over at

Urbanskifilm.com.

These are industrial strength pro rewinds with adapters. fairly expensive but worth it, as they should last forever.

Still get confused, what is the different using this expensive rewinder and movie editor as the rewinder bench?

I'm with Winbert on this since I just checked into the cost of a pair of 16mm rewinders they are quite expensive! I think I can get by with just an editor and use the rewinders on the editor. I just need to break down a few features and put them on larger reels and also use the rewinders to apply Filmguard.
Thanks,
RS

The difference could be just spool capacity.

Thanks Hugh,

There is a cheaper editor from UK by the brand Printz that can take until 1200'. Usually it goes for around GBP 10 - 20

Many editors can take 800' like GOKO.

cheers,

those editors will work of course. I like metal rewinds where I can adjust tension. Heavier duty for large 16mm, 8mm and Super 8mm rolls, just all around old school habit really. cement splicer for 16 and standard 8.

you can ask Urbanski for used rewinds btw. a fraction of the cost. I got some old neumade rewinds.

Besides the reel capacity. The 16mm rewinders are heavy duty and less flimsy. I use neaumade rewinders.
