I love this forum! You learn something new almost everyday! I alsways knew about the super 8 optical feature of this, but never knew of a magnetic sound feature, no matter what language.

Osi, you're an old hand and know the score, if it's been seen in a cinema, chances are it's on 8mm...........somewhere.

Especially when it came to the Italian prints!

That's not a slam on the Italians, it's just that, from a reliable Italian source, they would literally take the print after it would finish it's run, and take it to a super 8 lab that was ready to go, to make a negative for prints.

This is why so many of the Italian prints tend to have lines and lots of wear. However, incredible rarities are to be had in Italy.

I actually have the RKO Pictures shortened version of "Fantasia"
on super 8 (runs approximately 82 minutes and has none of the 'Deems Taylor" narraration to it) which also has all the censored footage, (black centaurettes as slaves and such) which Disney has chosen to ignore even existed, ("Complete" versions of "Fantasia on DVD and Blu-ray my ass!)

The funny thing is that the source material that was used was actually saved from the chopping block as it has excessive but well splices plices to the film, constantly!
