Sorry to intrude, I have a few questions please. Looking for a TV on craigslist I ran across an ad for 3 movie projectors for $30. Knowing nothing about them I took a shot and made the deal. There are things that work on all of them, fans, lights etc. but none of the lamps work. I was wondering if they were worth anything? Are they worth repairing / restoring? Or, is there any value in current condition? Or, should I just dispose of them. Thanks in advance for any feedback.

If you turn on the units and extend the arms on the eiki if the spindle on left or rear of the first one moves it probably works if you have any film you can run through these to see if they even advance, the first unit is a 16mm these were used in schools the second is 35mm film strip projector again used in school settings the third looks like a 8mm unit Im not sure of someone else on here can maybe help if film goes through these they probably work fine if not a small adjustment can be done the bulbs for the first 2 are still obtainable and not to expensive look on the model number label and see if it says what they take the eiki takes a 24v 200w bulb the slide unit should be a lower watt bulb.

Thanks Jim, the first one (EIKI) does turn. The last one (NAC) does not. But I don't even know how to operate it. It has a wired controller. Thanks for letting me know types.

Ok, looks like #2 is worthless. Maybe some potential in #1 and I can't find any clues on #3.

the second one use cassettes and possibly will not advance unless the cassette tells it to or the film can usually be advanced manually it looks like the lens is missing on 2nd unit or is it recessed?. if you have a craiglists in your area maybe list the 2 for parts? the eiki you should be able to get back your 30.00 easily if it works i bought one a thrift store in excellent condition for 30.00

Yes, the #2 is not selling on ebay even for $10. There have been some of #1 ones sold for $50 plus working. I still can't find any details on #3.

No intrusion at all. That's what we do here.

The third is a 16mm film projector that takes 800' reels and is made by NAC of Japan. Here is a link to a PDF file.
Bulbs can be found on EBay for 6.00.

Rick - have you had a look at the lamp filaments? Maybe the lamps have blown. It's also easy to check the Eiki's fuses, which can be reeached at the bottom of the back. The Eiki SSL is a popular and relatively modern projector and there's no shortage of spares available. It could be a bargain even if you had to pay a moderate sum to get it working again. I could recommend a good person to fix it in the USA if needed. Does it have the front cover?

The NAC is a highly specialised 16mm silent projector that was produced to screen films for analysis at a wide range of slower than normal speeds. It's of little use to the average film user, although if you found someone that actually wanted one, they might pay over $30 even if it isn't working. The remote control offers precise control over the speed, so it would be useful to establish whether this is working. If it seems to have anything other than the lamp that isn't working, I'd suggest selling it for a modest sum to anyone willing to work on it, as I doubt if many projector repair people would feel qualified to fix it. I very briefly had one of these and I think it had some instructions pasted inside the front cover. Does yours have the cover?

Yes Adrian, I have all the covers. No, I haven't tinkered with them at all. I will do a little testing this weekend. I'm a little many with a meter so I will test power supply to the lamp and ohm it out.

Thanks a ton Pat, I will read over this to understand how it operates. I can't seem to find any for sale to get a value.

I bought my NAC projector 'as seen' for about £30 (or $45) on eBay. Having decided that I had no hope of getting it working properly, I sold it for somewhat less to a member here who was willing to have a go at fixing it despite the problems. I think I sold it for about $30 or slightly over.
