I need a cooling fan blade for a Revere AP 828 8mm projector. I would imagine a blade from another brand would work if the size is right. The dimensions are 2 3/4 diameter, 1" deep, 1/4" shaft hole. Plastic or metal will work. If you have parts projectors around with this type of blade please let me know. I have attached a pic. Thanks in advance.

Hey Pat,

These people stock brand new blower wheels and have almost exactly what you need:

Plastic Blower Wheels

What's the difference?

These wheels are meant for counter-clockwise rotation and since the pitch of your blades looks opposite from the picture in their website I'd say you have a clockwise wheel (...or about 3/4 of one!).

This could make a difference if for example instead of forcing the hot air around the bulb out the top it's pulling it inside the machine and making all the stuff in there run a little hotter.

Since you have a silent machine you may get away with this. Semiconductors hate heat, but without an amp in there you may have none. Still the same, the best thing to do may be to send this seller your injured-wheel picture and ask if they can get the clockwise version of the correct sized wheel. (better "exact" than "almost"...)

Good Luck!

Glad to be of help!

Were they able to find the exact match or did you go with "close enough"?

It's not a lunar mission: "close enough" would probably be...close enough!

Steve always pulls through. He bought a couple of things from me in addition to some projector advice at the last CinSea. I then began singing "KLARE, the moment I met you I swear..something happened to me.." oh wait. That was "CLAIR" by Gilbert O'Sullivan. My bad..

Ahhh...

That song was a highlight of my later years in elementary school!

-or as I like to call it "My passage through the Elementary Canal!"

Very interesting that a singer whose first hit starts off with a promise to commit suicide follows up with a sweet song about babysitting....
