Hi Adam, the light output on the xenon CL is much brighter than the standard machine even though it's the same wattage. I watched a film on a sunny afternoon without drawing the curtains on a xenon and you could see the picture no problem and on my standard machine I would just about see the image. For such a compact machine the xenon is impressive, Mark

Definitley, the image looks bright like in a real cinema. I have one Halogen Elmo 16CL and two 16CL-Xenon projectors and I use only the Xenon projectors.

A test report in "Movie Maker" in August 1977 found the standard Elmo 16-CL had an output of 540 lumens. A few years later Movie Maker found that a Bell & Howell 1568 with a Gemini lamp had an output of about 1800 lumens. That is three times more, so I would expect a Elmo with a similar 300/350W xenon to equal this. This means the Xenon will give a screen of 3 times the area or 1.73 times wider for the same brightness.

The B&H 1568 dis not use a Marc 300 bulb, they used the Gemini 350 bulb. Both are mercury vapor arc bulbs, but the Gemini was slightly smaller, different reflector, and slightly brighter.
