I think the main drive belt has gone on my B&H 655. I removed all six screws on the rear cover, but it seems tight at the top, and the inching knob prevents the back cover being removed. Anyone removed the cover on this model before?

Simply pull. It'll come off, don't worry. Have taken hundreds of these off. The plastic guard around the inching knob slides into the side of the rear cover. This is the resistance you are experiencing.

Absolutely. Once all six screws are out, there is nothing to retain the cover. It's just the grip of the aluminium strip. The inching knob surround will stay in place but will be free to rotate.
