Hello

I need some urgent help in finding material on film for a program i will be putting together for students this October in Bristol for a HarryHausen night. Can anyone tell me how to obtain borrow or hire prints (i know very rare to obtain) on 35mm 16mm or 8mm the last gauge not sure if it will hold up well on a big screen but i might be wrong!?! We also will be having the great man himself attending.

Any contacts or areas that i could look preferable in the UK would be a great help.

Thanks in advance

You could try Filmbank for 16mm prints (www.filmbank.co.uk).
I have a catalogue from about 1990 and it shows that at the time their 16mm prints included One Million Years BC, Jason and the Argonauts, Clash of the Titans, Mysterious Island and all 3 Sinbad films. Their site is hopeless when it comes to identifying 16mm prints, so don't assume that they don't have a film on 16mm, because it doesn't actually say 16mm.
You could also try asking the BFI, as they don't seem to have a comprehensive list of their 16mm prints.
