I just discovered today that AOL has closed Hometown, without warning! They say they sent emails...but none of my THREE addresses received one! I had two pages on Hometown, and had published links to them several times on the Forum.... please, please, did anyone out there access them and print them out????
They were named "Amateur Telecine 1" and "Amateur Telecine 2". I do have hard copy of very early draft versions, but a lot of the recent changes are lost.

Thank you, Jim Carlile suggested that also. Have tried but no luck so far; will try again in a couple of months if AOL don't cough up... I have made a formal complaint, so who knows!!

Martin,
If you are lucky, google may have saved your blog on their cache. Try google your own blog (with a very unique keywords) if the result comes that click on "cache"., not the real link.

Partial salvation! Lurking in the dim recesses on my computor I found a Word Document copied from Hometown at an intermediate stage. It's not the up to date version, but I've also recovered from this Forum some of my later musings; without too much work I should be able to at least knock "Telecine 1" into shape. "Telecine 2" remains lost at the moment

Martin,
If you are a computer geek person, (or you can find someone for you nearby), your computer must still have it as cookies. It was stored either when you were submitting on to hometown or when you were visiting it for updating or just to have a look.

Unfortunately cookies are only stored when using IE or Firefox (Netscape) browsers; I used AOL browser! Never mind, I'd nearly decided to leave AOL for a number of niggling reasons; perhaps this is the last straw. Martin

If you have any photos you don't want to loose on the AOL PICTURES i would download them now or transfer them, as that service closes down on 31st December.
