Hi Brad,

I am often questioning why you have policy to put that scarry picture and tell "we are stealing bandwith from other web server"? if we do something with uploading pictures.

I knew that this is not always the case, but sometimes I saw that.

Secondly why you do not allow us to use web server such as www.photobucket.com or www.flickr.com to show the images?

Other forums are always using this so their servers are not full easily.

If we use those free storage server, I don;t think we are STEALING the bandwith, because those servers are intended to do that. And it's free...

So who is stealing who?

regards

I don't have much time to write this out, so I'll get to the highlights and leave out the bulk of the history.

I am too busy these days to deal with re-writing the code to change that picture. Many years ago we had porn sites uploading their content to our server and "stealing our bandwidth" to host their own porn sites. We had to implement various security issues to prevent that from happening.

If you go to www.film-tech.com and click on the forums there, you will find a link to the FAQ that actually works. You will find the solution to your problem regarding your firewall settings there. On a properly setup firewall (which yours is not), you will not see that picture.

To answer the other question, other sites may not be linked here because it destroys the integrity of the archives.
