Only last week I went to see The LadyKillers.. not the original Ealing Comedy Film (a real CLASSIC) in which he gave a brilliant performance, but the Stage Adaptation... VERY,VERY funny. But not as funny as the film, and it lacked the sheer suspense of the original. Herbert Lom was a highly accomplished actor, at home in all genres.

One of the great British character actors. He stole every scene he was in.

I was reared on Herbert Lom as a kid when he was Dr Corder, the psychiatrist in "The Human Jungle" TV series, but he'll always be the kindly Capt. Nemo in "Mysterious Island" and the troubled Phantom in Hammers' "Phantom of the Opera" to me.A very fine actor and a private man, condolences to his Family, RIP.

His greatest comedy moment was the funeral scene in "Revenge of the Pink Panther" when, as Dreyfuss, he is joyfully happy assuming that Inspector Clouseau is dead (but tries to disguise his giggles as remorseful tears).

Only reading old Films & Film bought from Ebay article wrote by Herbert Lom about filming in Hollywood just a couple of days before he died.
A fantastic character actor, who added to many a film. Remember him in Northwest Frontier, Mysterious Island a very good Nemo too, seemed to fit the part after reading the book. Mysterious Island
I feel if Herbert Lom had NOT played 'Police Commisioner Charles Dreyfus' the Pink Panther films would not have been as funny.
Great in 'The Ladykillers' too Also enjoyed 'Hopscotch' with Walter Matthau, lucky to have on 16mm.
Heaven must be a fun fantastic place to be.
Thank You for entertaining me over the years. Herbert Charles Angelo Kuchacevich ze Schluderpacheru
