A big well done to the USA in the World Cup, together with Jurgan, you did yourselves proud! Pity I cannot say the same for England yet again! As for Belgium, well done Vincent, City loves you more than you will ever know! Celebrate hard into the night Dominique!

As for Rolf Harris- shame on you, may you never see the light of day ever again!!

Paul, he was very well liked and respected by the British public throughout his career, always on our television screens, and very much thought upon as a do gooder. He even campaigned against child abuse. In recognition of being an all round good egg, he was knighted and selected to do a portrait of the queen several years ago.

I don't suppose that will be taking pride and place any longer in Buck House in view of the recent revelations. IMHO: She has been made to look a fool by this con man, and not just her, all of us.

Rolf had plenty of awards, but I don't think he was ever knighted, though that may well have happened later if the truth hadn't come out.

"A right Charlie" is another way of saying "mugged off" or "made to feel a right Muppet" etc etc. In other words someone has had you over or made a fool out of you in an embarrassing way.

Osi. Having spent most on my working childhood life in London I can confirm Right Charlie is cockney rhyming slang for a Ponce.

Similarly Lancashire dialect might say 'That's peed on't chips' meaning 'That's very unfortunate'.

As a Londoner (born in Blackpool due to someone dropping bombs on London), I've never heard of 'Charlie', being refered to as rhyming slang for 'ponce', which is someone who gets clients for prostitutes. Sometimes used as rhyming slang for 'Charlie Hunt'( perhaps you can figure), and possibly a proper Charlie refering to Charlie Chaplin, being a figure of mirth.
